Once on board with MSM, our Health & Human Services (HHS)-Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS) contract mandates that MSM provide Initial Training to all FPI Candidates regardless of other inspector type training.
The HHS/CMS Initial Training is remote, self-paced and consists of reviewing:
- HHS/CMS agency specific documents/guidance
- MSM proprietary material/guidance
- Six (6) online lessons
- Three (3) mentoring videos
Candidates must then complete a final ten (10) question open-notes, open-book assessment for which a minimum score of 80% must be achieved. The training generally can be accomplished in one (1) day.
Once training requirements are met, candidates will be processed for an HHS Identification Badge which is used to identify yourself during the fraud inspections and approved to conduct HHS site inspections.
On an annual basis, based upon the completion month of your initial training, each inspector is also required to complete the HHS/CMS Annual Refresher Training. This requires the review of some of the same material reviewed during the initial training as well as any updates to the program since completion of the initial training.
MSM will continue to provide the best opportunities for our inspectors to succeed while performing valuable tasks. Together, we look forward to your success in this exciting and rewarding industry.
